Rosenberger Joins EBO MSA to Advance Open Optical Connectivity Standards for AI Data Centers

 

Strategic participation underscores the company’s global investments in Expanded Beam Optical technology and commitment to scalable AI infrastructure

 

Augsburg / Fridolfing, June 09, 2026 – Rosenberger, a global leader in high-performance connectivity solutions, today announced that it has joined the newly established Expanded Beam Optical Multi-Source Agreement (EBO MSA), an industry coalition dedicated to advancing open and interoperable optical connectivity standards for next-generation AI data centers.

 

Industry Collaboration to Scale AI Infrastructure

The EBO MSA brings together leading technology companies across the AI infrastructure ecosystem to collaboratively develop standardized specifications for Expanded Beam Optical (EBO) connector solutions. The initiative aims to accelerate deployment of high-performance optical interconnects that support the rapidly growing scale, bandwidth, and reliability requirements of AI-driven data center architectures.

Expanded Beam Optical technology is increasingly recognized as a key enabler for hyperscale AI infrastructure due to its advantages in reliability, operational efficiency, contamination resistance, and ease of maintenance in high-density environments.

 

Supporting Open Standards for Next-Generation Connectivity

The organization focuses on developing open specifications for Expanded Beam Optical connectivity solutions optimized for AI and hyperscale data center applications.
