Electrical Design
Transmission of very fast signals requires very precise control of the signal path.

In Rosenberger R&D, all design tools are available to make highly precise predictions about decisive system parameters such as impedance, reflections, attenuation and electromagnetic coupling.

RF Design
RF Design
In the course of the introduction of the manufacturing process for very high quantities, a prediction regarding the expected transmission characteristics is becoming increasingly important before expensive tooling is produced.

The electrical analysis of concepts with the assistance of simulation tools such as HFSS or MWS helps decisively in minimizing tooling costs and the number of vias required. Geometric and dielectric properties of the components can be freely selected with 3D simulation. Statements concerning the shielding characteristics are also possible.

PCB Design
Test boards for PCB Connectors
Rosenberger develops their own test PCBs and examines the RF properties of the connector by using our own in-house RF test laboratory. In doing so, impedance controlled connections are implemented on high-frequency substrates up to 70 GHz.

Adaptor boards to other connector series
Depending on the requirement, adaptor boards for special demonstration systems are designed, which demonstrate how Rosenberger products work together with existing systems such as USB or IEEE1394.
System Simulation
System Simulation
System Simulation
Various software tools such as Ansoft Designer, CST Microwave Studio and MATLAB allow our research and development engineers to apply their know-how for individual and complex system simulations.

One possible application is the examination of the transfer response of a channel regarding a differential digital data stream. This channel represents, for example, the electrical properties of a cable measured by a network analyzer or described by S-parameters. The results of this simulation can be represented by so-called eye pattern diagrams, where it is possible to derive how the communication between transmitter and receiver can be interfered with by cable attenuation.

Cable Design
Cable Design
Cable Design
Rosenberger develops cable designs for specific demands in close co-operation with leading cable manufacturers. Thus for example, differential data lines for HSD (High Speed Data) transmission systems are constructed and optimized. These cables are also specially developed for the requirements of the automotive industry. There are special cable variants, which are either designed for static installation in a wiring harness or intended for highly-flexible applications such as door joints.

Particularly for future demands with multi GBit transmissions, attenuation optimized cable designs are derived, based on the results of electromagnetic simulations from line currents on the shield. Furthermore, unshielded HSD versions are also available for low data rates.
